Palermo has become the second Serie A team to fire its coach on Sunday, sacking Sersi Cosmi after less than two months in the job and replacing him with his predecessor.
Palermo lost 4-0 to Catania in the Sicilian derby on Sunday, only the fourth match under Cosmi since he took over from Delio Rossi on Feb. 27 following a 7-0 thrashing by Udinese.
Despite leading Palermo to a 1-0 win over AC Milan last round for his only victory in the job, Cosmi was let go by Palermo president Maurizio despite earlier saying he would not make a decision until Monday.
Palermo is eighth in the standings and has conceded 50 goals, the most in the league.
