Edgar Duenas scored in the second half to help Toluca salvage a 1-1 tie against Pachuca in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League semifinal on Tuesday.

Dario Cvitanich converted Paul Aguilar's cross in the 35th minute for Pachuca, but Duenas' header tied it in the 78th to leave the clubs all square ahead of the second leg next Wednesday.

Toluca finished with nine men after red cards for Miguel Angel Almazan in the 79th minute and Diego Novaretti in the 82nd.

The first leg of the other semifinal - also between Mexican clubs - will be played Wednesday when Pumas hosts Cruz Azul.
