Onuoha not resigned to City exit
The 24-year-old defender has impressed while on a season-long loan at Sunderland, who have the option to make the move permanent and manager Steve Bruce has made it clear he would like to sign Onuoha. But while the former England Under-21 international is enjoying his time on Wearside and would consider a permanent switch, he feels he may still have a future at City. "I wouldn't mind reviewing things at the end of the season," he told the Daily Star. "I signed for the season as opposed to six months, with the option for Sunderland to buy in January. Maybe that's what will happen. "I don't think leaving on loan is necessarily the last thing you'll ever do at a club. "I still have an open mind, because I'm a City player giving my all here at Sunderland, but City have the final word. "I'd like to think they still have me in their plans. But, if they don't, it's just one of those things you have to deal with.'' Onuoha has helped Sunderland to sixth place at Christmas and they visit league leaders Manchester United on Boxing Day. Third-placed City trail their derby rivals by just two points although United have two games in hand so Onuoha is hoping to do his parent club a favour on his return to Manchester. "It's always big for me being a City fan to go to Old Trafford," he added. "People can hate them as much as they want - not that I hate them - but they're sitting on top of the tree even though they are not playing well at the moment."
