Olsson completes Canaries switch
Norwich have signed goalkeeper Carlo Nash on a one-year deal.
The 39-year-old joins the club on a free transfer following his release from Stoke in the summer.
Nash will provide additional back-up to John Ruddy and Mark Bunn after Jed Steer left the club and Declan Rudd joined Preston on loan for the season.
The Canaries are Nash's 11th club of a career spanning over 20 years, including spells at Stockport, Preston, Manchester City and Everton.
Norwich boss Chris Hughton said: "It is now important to us to bring in a 'keeper of great experience and a player that is used to living life in the Premier League.
"The move also allows us to send Declan Rudd out on an extremely valuable season-long loan to Preston where he can get some first-team football under his belt."
The Brazilian midfielder joined City from Shakhtar Donetsk last month in a deal worth £34million to the Ukrainian club.
The cost to City is actually understood to be £30million with the 28-year-old having made a personal financial sacrifice to make the move happen.
In the weeks preceding the transfer's completion Fernandinho made clear his desire to move to the Etihad Stadium while City had also identified him as their top target.
He said: "In Ukraine, as well as in Brazil, Man City is now considered one of the best teams in the world and after I signed people back home in Brazil congratulated me for signing for one of the top teams in the world."
Fernandinho was flattered to be so highly regarded by City and is now determined to adapt quickly.
He said: "I think that was very important for me and I want to repay the club for what they have done for me by playing well on the pitch and winning as many trophies as possible.
"I think the main challenge for me is a different style compared with my last team and the amount of games during the season is more than I am used to."
Fernandinho shone in the Champions League last season and has become one of the top-rated players in Europe.
Despite that, he remains a relative unknown on the international stage having won just five caps for Brazil.
He hopes City will give him the platform to improve upon that ahead of next year's World Cup in his home country.
He said: "In time my performances will tell us. We will have to wait and see.
"My first aim is to play well for my club, Manchester City, and if I do I am sure that will come to the attention of the national manager."
The Argentinian club has confirmed on its official website, that they have finally agreed a deal with the Black Cats for the 21-year-old's signature.
A statement said: "Velez Sarsfield and Sunderland Association Football Club have reached an agreement to transfer the player Gino Peruzzi."
The news will come as a major boost to manager Paolo Di Canio after it appeared that the proposed deal had stalled earlier this week.
Velez vice-president Julio Baldomar claimed that Peruzzi had rejected the personal terms offered by the Black Cats, although fresh discussions appear to have solved whatever problem there was.
The full-back berths have been high on Di Canio's wish-list this summer with left-back Danny Rose having returned to parent club Tottenham after a successful loan spell and Phil Bardsley seemingly surplus to requirements.
Sunderland missed out on highly-rated Le Havre teenager Benjamin Mendy when he opted to join Marseille instead, but they look to have landed Peruzzi to tick another of the manager's boxes.
Meanwhile, reports from Italy claim they are also close to striking a deal for Juventus midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini.
The 25-year-old, who can also operate on the left side of midfield, will move to Carrow Road on a four-year deal from the Championship club once all of the relevant paperwork has been completed.
Olsson has been a long-term target of Canaries manager Chris Hughton, who has been on a summer spending spree following the club's record £8.5million capture of Holland international Ricky van Wolfswinkel, while England Under-21 winger Nathan Redmond was last week purchased from Birmingham, and defender Javier Garrido has signed permanently after a loan from Lazio.
"We are delighted with the addition of Martin. He's been playing in England for seven years and is well acclimatised to the Premier League," said Hughton on the club's official website.
"He can also play anywhere on the left hand side so he brings us good flexibility in that sense, plus at 25 he's at an age where he has some experience and also some time to improve.
"At this time it is about improving the squad that we have and Martin certainly does that."
Hughton is expected to show no let-up in his summer recruitment drive, with Scotland defender Russell Martin on Tuesday signing on for another three years with a contract extension.
Norwich are understood to be tracking PSV Eindhoven's Sweden international Ola Toivonen, Lokomotiv Moscow's £6million-rated Senegal striker Dame N'Doye.
Feyenoord midfielder Leroy Fer and Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld, meanwhile, are also reported targets for the Canaries, with suggestions the duo have already travelled to East Anglia to take in the club's facilities ahead of undergoing medicals.
Norwich are currently in Austria for a training camp ahead of a three-match tour to the west coast of the United States later this month.
