Oliver Kahn fined for tax evasion after trip

Former Germany and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn has been fined ?125,000 ($180,586) at a German district court after failing to declare purchases made on a shopping trip.

News agency DPA reports that the 41-year-old Khan was charged with tax evasion after being found with clothes and accessories worth ?6687.90 ($9,700) at Munich airport customs when he returned from a trip to Dubai on Feb. 22, 2010.

The former goalkeeper used the exit for passengers with nothing to declare.

Khan, who won 86 caps for Germany, did not appear at the Landshut District Court on Wednesday, but was represented by his lawyer.
