O'Hara has moved to the Black Country club on loan from Tottenham and is expected to make his debut in Wednesday's Premier League clash at Bolton. He suffered the misery of being relegated with Portsmouth last season during a temporary spell at Fratton Park, but O'Hara is convinced the quality of players in Mick McCarthy's squad will ensure there is no repeat scenario. O'Hara said: "It was not a nice feeling to go down with two months left of the season with Portsmouth. "It was always a struggle there at Portsmouth. There was a lot of limelight on the team last season with everything that was going on. "There was a lot of turmoil at the club which was a shame because it is a fantastic club, fantastic people there, a good squad, and everyone involved at the club was brilliant. "I really enjoyed myself there and it was just a shame what happened. Hopefully they can build again to push back up. "But I believe there is the quality in this squad to stay up and I hope something will happen in the summer to make things permanent. "I don't know if anyone has said anything but there is an option in there to buy in the summer." O'Hara is looking to prove his fitness after suffering a back injury 12 months ago and his last senior appearance was for Pompey in the FA Cup final against Chelsea. He said: "On a personal note it was a great season for me. I won eight Player of the Year awards although I had to have injections in my back to play during the final three months. "My last senior game was the cup final, chasing Frank Lampard around with a bad back. "Now I've just got to go and prove myself again."
