New Zealand has named a very experienced squad for the Women's World Cup in Germany beginning this month.

Every member of the 21-player squad has represented New Zealand in at least one FIFA age-group or senior tournament, including eight players who took part in the 2007 World Cup and 12 who played at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Teenagers Katie Bowen and Erin Nayler have forced their way into the squad but both have considerable international experience. The 17-year-old defender Bowen played at the under-17 World Cups in 2008 and 2010 while 19-year-old goalkeeper Nayler played at last year's under-20 World Cup.

New Zealand, which will be making its third World Cup appearance and its second in succession, opens its campaign against Japan on June 27.
