Nurnberg twice battled from behind to earn a share of the spoils in a thrilling six-goal Bundesliga encounter with Werder Bremen at the Weser Stadion on Sunday.

An own goal from Berkay Dabanli gave the hosts the lead in the eighth minute and Eljero Elia ended a 3361-minute drought with a brace, but that was not enough to earn Bremen all three points.

Hiroshi Kiyotake and Josip Drmic got the visitors back on level terms from 2-0 down, and Adam Hlousek's 70th-minute equalizer ensured a 3-3 result for draw specialists Nurnberg, who have now taken a point from five of their seven league games this season.

Stuttgart jumped up to sixth place in the table with a 4-0 win at last-placed Eintracht Braunschweig.

Vedad Ibisevic (40) scored the only goal of the first half but the floodgates opened after the break as Alexandru Maxim (50), Ibrahima Traore (76) and substitute Martin Harnik (86) got on the scoresheet.
