Napoli president desperate to sell Higuain to help fund transfers
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is desperate to sell Gonzalo Higuain and has said "I wish" another club would buy the striker.
The 27-year-old Argentina striker has a 90million euros ($99.7million) release clause in his Napoli contract though and De Laurentiis will not allow him to leave for anything less.
The exuberant De Laurentiis told fans at a training camp in Dimaro over the weekend "I wish" another club would buy Higuain, saying: "I'd buy eight players."
Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with Higuain and the Gunners have reportedly had a bid rejected earlier in the summer for the former Real Madrid man.
However, the Serie A club are adamant they will not sell Higuain unless his buy-out is met.
The club said in a statement last week: "The club stresses that the Argentine has an existing contract clause of 90million euros.
"No bids below that figure will be accepted, those who want the player will have to match that valuation."
