Napoli: Cavani not for sale

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis insists Edinson Cavani is not for sale at any price - for the time being.

Cavani's performances this season had been attracting interest from Spain and England.

The Uruguay striker has been in sensational form for Napoli this season, scoring 25 goals in 31 Serie A appearances, including a hat-trick in yesterday's 4-3 triumph over Lazio.

"There is no price set on Cavani," De Laurentiis said.

"He is not for sale. For the time being, his mission is to defend the Napoli colours.

"I can only say that he is worth a lot so that people stop enquiring about him."

The 24-year-old joined Napoli from Palermo last summer and signed a five-year contract with the Serie A outfit.

Napoli are second in the standings, three points behind Serie A leaders AC Milan with seven round of matches remaining.
