Jose Mourinho's departure from Inter Milan this summer is 'unthinkable', according to club technical director Marco Branca.

Mourinho has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Branca spoke after Inter's 2-0 win at Lazio lifted the Nerazzurri back into first place in Serie A with two games remaining.

"Last year Mourinho was also linked with Real Madrid," said Branca. "But he is happy to be with us and we are happy to have him.

"They are just journalistic fantasies.

"We are absolutely not thinking about it.

"Jose Mourinho's future away from Milan is unthinkable."

The former Chelsea coach is under contract with the Italian champions until June 2012.

Speculation on his possible move to Madrid was fuelled by Inter's two-legged triumph over Real's rivals Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals.

Inter went into the clash at Lazio in celebratory mood having reached their first European final since 1972.

Goals from South American pair Walter Samuel and Thiago Motta made sure the Nerazzurri kept a two-point advantage over Roma heading into the last two league games of the campaign.

"We have overcome a big hurdle but there are still two left for the Scudetto," said Motta.

"We have taken a very important step forward.

"I have been fortunate to score today and that gives me confidence.

"We needed to win this game at all costs considering Roma had won their game at Parma.

"We arrived in Rome ready to take home three points and we have done our duty.

"Now we must recover and think about the Coppa Italia."

Inter take on Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in Wednesday's Coppa Italia final.

The Nerazzurri then host Chievo next before ending the season at already relegated Siena on May 16.

If Inter win next weekend and Roma lose against Cagliari, Mourinho's team will capture their fifth straight Scudetto.
