Montenegro coach Kranjcar fired

Montenegro's Football Association says it has fired coach Zlatko Kranjcar, despite his team lying second in Group G in qualifying for Euro 2012.

MFA President Dejan Savicevic told reporters on Thursday that Kranjcar had been fired in a ''unanimous'' decision by the executive board because of the defeats in the last two games and a bad atmosphere in the team.

Montenegro, which has 11 points from six matches, lost 2-1 to Wales in a qualifier last Friday and was beaten 3-2 away to Albania in a friendly in August.

Savicevic says that Kranjcar ''is not the same as last year'' and has been replaced by his deputy Branko Brnovic.
