Milla removed as Cameroon FA honorary president
Cameroon great Roger Milla has been removed as honorary president of the country's football federation after criticizing top officials.
Cameroon's federation, Fecafoot, fired Milla late Wednesday over his ''attacks'' on the body in the last year.
Milla, who led Cameroon to the quarterfinals of the 1990 World Cup and is recognized as one of Africa's great players, told The Associated Press it was ''a great relief'' and promised to continue his campaign to remove the federation leadership. He added ''the decision doesn't hurt me in the least.''
The 59-year-old Milla has been critical of Fecafoot president Mohammed Iya and other officials over Cameroon's failure to qualify for January's African Cup and disciplinary action against player Samuel Eto'o.
