PRAGUE (AP) Sparta Prague says Czech midfielder Petr Jiracek has agreed to move to the club from Hamburger SV.
Sparta, which plays in the top tier of the Czech league, said Tuesday that Jiracek has signed a four-year contract.
Jiracek joined Hamburg in August 2012 from Bundesliga rival Wolfsburg, also on a four-year contract. The club agreed on his early departure after he failed this season to get a spot in the squad.
The 29-year-old Jiracek played 28 games for the Czech Republic. But his last game was a year ago and he lost his place in the national squad after failing to make the starting lineup at Hamburg.
