Mexico captain Gerardo Torrado says his team is not intimidated by France and will take on its next Group A rivals as equals.

The 31-year-old midfielder says there are no easy games at the World Cup and that the pressure to win "is never small," but Mexico is confident it will be able to reach the second round.

Mexico and France play Thursday in Polokwane, a day after the match in Pretoria between the other teams in the group - South Africa and Uruguay.

All four teams have one point each after their first games, with Mexico and South Africa ahead on goal difference.
