Marseille's 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday was enough to qualify for the UEFA Cup.
Marseille finished third in Group D to earn the UEFA Cup spot after PSV Eindhoven lost to Liverpool 3-1 in the other group match.
"We probably didn't deserve to win as we did not create enough chances," Marseille coach Eric Gerets said. "But the players showed a lot of character."
