Marseille manager Didier Deschamps is hopeful the club can soon conclude a deal which would see defender Rod Fanni arrive from Rennes.
Fanni has been linked with a number of other clubs including Premier League side Liverpool as well as Atletico Madrid but Deschamps is optimistic he can soon secure the services of the France international.
Deschamps told TF1: "Within a few hours, I do not know, a few days - I hope so.
"The player wants to come and I think the bosses will make the necessary efforts for this to happen."
