Former Romania international Marius Lacatus is to become Steaua Bucharest coach for the third time.
Mediafax news agency reports that Lacatus returned to Romania Monday to take over the football team which has struggled to find a long-term manager in recent years.
Steaua has been in disarray after a string of coaches came and went amid tensions with the club owner Gigi Becali. In an article published Tuesday by daily Gandul, Becali confirmed Lacatus's return.
Becali is notorious for his hands-on approach to the team. In 2007 he forced Gheorghe Hagi to resign after publicly deriding the former star's abilities and claiming the right to interfere in naming the team's lineup.
