Maicon could still make Real switch
Maicon's agent claims his client could yet make a move to Real Madrid despite waning interest from Spain.
The Inter Milan full-back was widely tipped to be on his way to Santiago Bernabeu earlier in the summer, with the Primera Liga giants admitting to holding an interest.
Jose Mourinho's arrival in the Spanish capital was expected to help force a deal through, with the Portuguese coach known to be admirer of the Brazil international from their time together in Italy.
However, it appeared as though a move had been shelved once Real were informed by Inter that it would cost them €35million (£29.5m) to secure Maicon's signature.
Mourinho has since cooled his interest in the Samba star, with reports suggesting he has turned his attention elsewhere.
Maicon's representative claims a deal could yet be put in place, though, with the summer transfer window not due to close until the end of August.
"It seems that things have gone cold, especially as everyone is concentrated on the Mario Balotelli situation, and this pleases me - it means Maicon can enjoy his holidays in peace," Antonio Caliendo told Sky Italia.
"However, the Real Madrid option for my client has not collapsed. History has taught us that the summer transfer window often closes with a bang."
Reports in Italy also suggest that Roberto Mancini, another former Inter boss, is keen to take Maicon to Manchester City.
