BRIDGEVIEW, Illinois (AP) Chicago's Kennedy Igboananike scored his second goal of the game in the 73rd minute to give the lowly Fire a 3-2 home win against the New York Red Bulls, inflicting their first loss in seven games.
New York has not won in Chicago for ten years.
After New York's Sacha Kljestan opened the scoring with a penalty in the 10th minute, Igboananike equalized in the 22nd for Chicago, which remains in last place in the Eastern Conference.
Chicago's Patrick Nyarko made it 2-1 in the 41st after Gilberto's cross was chested down by Michael Stephens.
Ronald Zubar made it 2-2 in the 49th from a well-worked play after a corner.
In the day's other game, Colorado recorded an overdue home victory by beating Houston 2-1.
Both teams gave away penalties for handball in the first half; Colorado's Vicente Sanchez converted in the 20th minute and Houston's Brad Davis in the 37th.
The winning goal came in the 79th minute when Kevin Doyle climbed over a defender to head home Sean St. Ledger's cross.
