Seattle Sounders designated player Freddie Ljungberg says his return to Major League Soccer will depend on negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement.

Ljungberg said on his Web site on Friday he has not made a final decision on where he'll play this spring. The Sounders open training camp in suburban Seattle next Monday.

The league's five-year labor contract expires on Jan. 31.

There have been reports that European teams have contacted Ljungberg this season, and he said on his post that it's an honor when "top teams are interested and evidently this shows that MLS these days is a very reputable league."

Ljungberg was an MLS All-Star and had two goals last season. His contract with Seattle goes through the 2010 season.
