Liverpool are reportedly eyeing up a January move for 24-year-old Rennes winger Sylvain Marveaux.
The highly-rated former France U21 international is out of contract in the summer, and has previously attracted the attention of some of Europe's biggest clubs.
New Director of Football Strategy at Liverpool, Damien Commoli, is thought to be behind securing a possible deal with Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson also said to have been seen at Rennes' Route de Lorient this season.
Marveaux is currently sidelined with injury and while Rennes are keen to secure him to a new contract, he has yet to pledge his future to the club.
Liverpool must decide whether to sign him for a fee in January or wait until the summer to sign the former Ménimur and Vannes youth team player.
