Lille has signed 18-year-old Costa Rican striker John Jairo Ruiz from Deportivo Saprissa on a 4 1/2-year deal.
Lille announced the deal on its website without giving any financial details.
Ruiz, who scored three times for Costa Rica at the Under-20 World Cup last year, said ''I am joining an ideal club and a league which will help me improve'' as a player.
