Bayer Leverkusen has signed back Switzerland forward Eren Derdiyok on loan from Hoffenheim and sent Poland striker Arkadiusz Milik to Augsburg.

Derdiyok will return to the club where he spent three seasons, from 2009-12, in a loan deal through June 2014. He scored 25 goals in 90 games during his first stint at Leverkusen but failed to settle at Hoffenheim, where he scored one in 19 league appearances.

Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voeller says Derdiyok ''delivered great games during his time with us, but didn't always realize his huge potential. We're giving him this chance now.''

Milik, who joined Leverkusen from Gornik Zabrze in January, will play one season at Augsburg. His Leverkusen contract runs through June 2018.
