Late goal sees Maritimo past Sporting

Papa ''Baba'' Diawara scored in injury time to give Maritimo a 3-2 win over Sporting Lisbon on Sunday in the Portuguese league.

Russian midfielder Marat Izmailov put Sporting ahead in the 38th, only to see Maritimo go in front on Rafael Miranda's 48th-minute header and Leocifio Sami's strike in the 52nd.

Former Barcelona forward Jeffren Suarez came off the bench and equalized with a free kick in the 75th before Baba appeared late to snatch Maritimo's first win of the young season.

Also, Olhanense beat Rio Ave 1-0, Beira Mar downed Guimaraes 3-0 and Pacos Ferreira drew 0-0 at Feirense.


On Monday, Benfica visits Nacional, while Setubal hosts Braga.
