Lahm returns to full training after broken ankle, boosts Bayern push

Bayern Munich have been boosted by the news that captain Philipp Lahm has returned to full training after recovering from a broken ankle.
The 31-year-old, who has not featured in the Bundesliga since Bayern's 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt, underwent surgery last November after fracturing his ankle in training but is now closing in on a return.
However despite taking part in individual training sessions for some time, Lahm is not expected to feature for the first-team straight away as Pep Guardiola eases his return to the starting line-up ahead of a busy conclusion to the season.
The World Cup winner could be brought back over the next fortnight as Bayern look to maintain their 11-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga and continue their progress in the Champions League.
They host Shakhtar Donetsk second leg of their last 16 tie on Wednesday having drawn 0-0 in the Ukraine but the match has come too early for Lahm to make his return to action.
