Keepers Boschker, Ten Rouwelaar in Dutch squad
Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk called up a pair of goalkeepers Friday as possible replacements for Maarten Stekelenburg in European Championship qualifiers against Hungary.
Stekelenburg is Van Marwijk's first choice, but the Ajax keeper is expected to be sidelined for the rest of the season after breaking his right thumb in training last week.
Van Marwijk named uncapped NAC Breda goalkeeper Jelle ten Rouwelaar and 40-year-old Sander Boschker of FC Twente alongside FC Utrecht keeper Michel Vorm in his 23-man squad.
Van Marwijk said Vorm was most likely to start in goal.
Stekelenburg is the only player missing through injury for Van Marwijk, whose team leads Group E with four wins from four matches. Hungary is second in the group with three wins and a loss.
Van Marwijk is waiting to see if Schalke striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar can play, calling him a doubtful starter as he returns from a knee injury.
''He's not fit yet, but is in training,'' the coach said. ''We will check with the medical staff on Monday how he is.''
The teams meet on March 25 in Budapest and four days later in Amsterdam.
Van Marwijk dropped veteran striker Ruud van Nistelrooy from the provisional squad named last week, along with FC Twente pair Luuk de Jong and Peter Wisgerhof and Ajax midfielder Demy de Zeeuw.
