Kaiserslautern and Wolfsburg shared the spoils in a goalless draw did neither struggling team many favours.

Bottom side Kaiserslautern ended a four-game losing streak but still have not won in 14 matches to remain at the foot of the table with 19 points.

Wolfsburg have won just once in their last six games and moved to 28 points.

Wolfsburg had the first chance in the seventh minute but Kaiserslautern goalkeeper Tobias Sippel made a fine save from Chris's long-range shot.

The home side finally threatened after 31 minutes, but Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio was able to stop Christian Tiffert's attempt.

Tiffert was again unable to beat Benaglio six minutes later after the Kaiserslautern captain was fed by Julian Derstroff but watched as the goalkeeper palmed the shot away from 10 yards.

Sippel showcased his skills again in the 43rd minute, fending away Marcel Schafer's attempt.

Wolfsburg continued their hunt for the lead in the 62nd minute but Yohandry Orozco's shot after a long run by Patrick Helmes went just wide of Sippel's goal.

Wolfsburg substitute Thomas Hitzlsperger unleashed a powerful drive from 28 yards out but just missed in the 82nd minute.

Sandro Wagner's header for Kaiserslautern then could not find the empty Wolfsburg goal after Benaglio failed to deal with a cross from the right side in the 85th minute.
