Junior Fernandes sent to Dinamo Zagreb on loan

Bayer Leverkusen has sent Chile forward Junior Fernandes to Dinamo Zagreb on loan for a year.

Fernandes has a contract with Leverkusen until 2017. He made six Bundesliga appearances last season for Leverkusen.

Leverkusen's director of sports Rudi Voeller says the club recognizes that Fernandes has potential despite being unable to break through.

Voeller says the loan is an opportunity for Fernandes to develop and gain experience ''to prepare better for a future with us.''
