Juan Mata wants Spain to become the first nation to hold the world, European and Olympic titles at the same time with victory at London 2012.

The 24-year-old Chelsea playmaker won the World Cup with Spain in 2010 and scored in the 4-0 victory over Italy in the final of the European championships this summer.

Mata also tasted domestic success with Chelsea this year, winning the FA Cup and Champions League titles.

The Spaniard features in his national Olympic team as one of the three players included who are aged over 23.

However Mata insists the considerable success he and his countrymen have enjoyed has not diminished their desire to clinch Olympic glory.

"It would be amazing to win the Olympic tournament," Mata said. "I have had the opportunity to play in the World Cup and the European Championship and win both.

"Winning a gold medal at the Olympics would complete an amazing summer for me, but also for Spanish football."
