Javier Pastore signs new contract with PSG through 2019
Javier Pastore has signed a new contract to keep him at Paris St Germain until 2019.
The Argentina midfielder, 25, has enjoyed a stellar season with five goals and 10 assists in Ligue 1 as PSG won the title for the third season running and added both domestic cups.
That form saw him hailed as the best player in the world by former Manchester United and France forward Eric Cantona, and Pastore himself hailed "an incredible season" as he reacted to his new deal.
"I am very happy," he told the club's official website.
"I am very proud of the season I had. We made history here in Paris.
"I hope to continue winning titles here and to reach a Champions League final with this team. That is my main objective now."
PSG reached the quarter-finals of this season's competition where they were beaten by Barcelona, their only defeats in the final 14 games of the season as they won their last nine league games, the Coupe de la Ligue final and the Coupe de France semi-final and final.
Pastore, who was suspended for the latter final, has high hopes for himself and the team.
"I have grown as a man and as a player," he said. "I think the best moments are to come."
