The winger is also determined not to become a one-cap wonder after appearing as a second-half substitute during the 1-1 draw with Ghana. Jarvis had been in two of Fabio Capello's provisional squads earlier this season without making the step up. He finally made his debut in front of proud Wolves boss Mick McCarthy after never appearing at any of the youth levels for his country. But Jarvis' first priority now is to help the Molineux club preserve their top-flight status for another season, starting with Saturday's clash at Newcastle. Jarvis said: "This is a massive confidence boost for myself and hopefully for the club for the battles ahead. "People tell me the Wolves fans were dying to see me on the pitch and it was fantastic, a great feeling, hard to describe. "It is going to be great for me to go back now full of confidence and to enjoy the rest of the season but it will only be really enjoyable if we stay up. "I've got to go back to Wolves, make sure I play consistently well and make sure we stay up. "It is a massive game for us on Saturday and hopefully we can go into it in good spirits." Jarvis added: "We've got the belief that we can stay up. We've been playing extremely well. "We've got a great squad, great team spirit and I am sure we will be fine." Jarvis knows the competition he faces at England level, but the taste of playing for his country has given him the appetite for more. He said: "All the wingers in the squad are exceptional. "You saw from the Ghana game and the other day against Wales that they are all a tremendous talent. "They are all young as well and it is great for the future of the country. "But playing for your country is what you dream about and you want to represent your country and it is a fantastic feeling. "But it has given me the appetite for more. Hopefully this is the start. "I will keep working hard and make sure I am consistently playing well. I'll just have to wait and see what happens." The only downside of the last 10 days for Jarvis was Wolves striker Kevin Doyle picking up a knee ligament injury on Republic of Ireland duty which could sideline for the rest of the campaign. Jarvis said: "I was absolutely gutted for him. To see him coming off with an injury is never nice for anyone. "He is a vital part of our team and he will be missed. "But we've got a great squad and whoever comes in will do a fantastic job. "Obviously we are very disappointed for him because he has been playing extremely well."
