Japan will play Canada in an international friendly in March, four days before facing Jordan for a chance to secure a place at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Alberto Zaccheroni's side will take on Canada at Doha, Qatar's Khalifa International Stadium on March 22 before travelling to Amman for a World Cup qualifier against Jordan on March 26 where a win would see the Asian champions qualify with two games to spare.

The last time Japan faced Canada was at the 2001 Confederations Cup in Japan where the hosts won 3-0.

Japan, which leads Group B of World Cup qualifying with 13 points, is seeking its fifth straight appearance in football's showpiece event.
