Ivory Coast needs freak results to stay in WCup

Ivory Coast needs one of the unlikeliest results in World Cup history if it is to prolong its stay at the 2010 tournament.

The Ivorians retain just the slimmest of mathematical chances of qualifying for the last 16 stage, but need to win and win big against North Korea on Friday.

At the same time, Sven-Goran Eriksson's team must count on Portugal losing to Brazil in Durban, while making up a nine-goal gap in goal difference to the Portuguese.
