Italy midfielder Verratti extends contract with Paris Saint-Germain

Italy midfielder Marco Verratti has signed a one-year extension to his contract at Paris Saint-Germain.
The Ligue 1 champions confirmed the news, which has been expected for some time, in a press release on Monday afternoon.
Verratti has made 88 appearances for the club since joining from Serie B Pescara in the summer of 2012.
He said: "When I think about my career, I only see myself at Paris Saint-Germain.
"I want to continue winning trophies with this club and continue to improve as a footballer alongside truly world-class players. Paris is magical!"
It is the second summer in succession Verratti has signed an improved contract with PSG and club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi stressed the youngster's importance to them.
"All of Europe wants Marco Verratti, and each year, he shows his desire to be a long term part of the Paris St Germain project," he said.
"Marco is one of the most talented players of his generation. His presence in the squad shows the club's desire to prepare for the future and build one of the biggest clubs in Europe."
