Issam Jemaa grabs equalizer for Auxerre

Substitute Issam Jemaa grabbed a last-gasp equaliser for Auxerre this evening to nick a valuable Ligue 1 point against fellow strugglers Dijon at the Stade Abbe Deschamps.

The Tunisia forward scored in stoppage time to salvage a draw after fellow substitute Anthony Le Tallec had got the hosts back in the game by reducing the deficit in the 81st minute.

Benjamin Corgnet and Brice Jovial had given the promoted visitors a two-goal cushion with first-half goals, but AJA's late comeback ensured both teams reached the league's halfway point precariously placed - just one point above the drop zone.

Dijon headed into the game having picked up only one point from their previous three matches, but started well and had the lead within seven minutes. Jovial took the ball beyond advancing goalkeeper Olivier Sorin and, although his right-footed effort was blocked by defender Stephane Grichting, it fell kindly for Corgnet to tap home the opener.

Prince Segbefia almost equalised seven minutes later when he latched onto Alain Traore's lay-off and got his shot away, only to see it fly narrowly wide.

Auxerre went even closer soon after when Roy Contout diverted a fierce left-footed drive from Dennis Oliech, but the ball brushed the outside of Baptiste Reynet's post on its way wide.

The hosts continued to push forward, Reynet doing well to tip a cross-shot from Contout over the bar, but 11 minutes before the break they were two down.

Thomas Guerbert linked up with Corgnet before playing a great ball to Jovial, who controlled on his chest before despatching a brilliant shot past Sorin.

Dijon could have extended their advantage still further on the hour mark, when Eric Bautheac, Guerbert and Younousse Sankhare combined to set up Jovial, but the Guadeloupe striker was too nonchalant and his weak effort failed to trouble Sorin.

That miss proved costly as, in the final 10 minutes, Auxerre netted twice to snatch a seemingly unlikely point.

First Le Tallec rose highest to nod a Traore corner past Reynet and then, in the first minute of added time, Traore capitalised on a Samuel Souprayen defensive error and crossed for Jemaa to poke into an empty net.
