The Dutch football association says winger Arjen Robben has been ruled out of the Netherlands' next two European Championship qualifiers by a groin injury.
The team announced late Wednesday that the injury-prone Bayern Munich star would not play Friday against Moldova in Rotterdam or four days later against Sweden in Solna.
Coach Bert van Marwijk called Robben's latest setback ''a complicated, stubborn injury.''
Robben is the latest addition to a long injury list that includes playmaker Wesley Sneijder, goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg, defender John Heitinga and midfielder Ibrahim Afellay.
The Netherlands has already qualified for Euro 2012 with eight straight wins. One more victory will assure the team of top spot in Group E.
