Former Croatia, Derby County and West Ham defender Igor Stimac has been named the new Croatia coach.
Stimac replaces Slaven Bilic who took over Lokomotiv Moscow after he led Croatia at the European Championship.
Stimac had 53 caps for Croatia, including the 1998 World Cup where the team placed third. He played for Hajduk Split, Derby County and West Ham in the late 1990s.
Also, Stimac's former teammate and ex-Real Madrid striker, Davor Suker, was named the Croatian Football Association president, replacing Vlatko Markovic, who spent 14 years at the helm of the organization.
Stimac, 44, will lead Croatia in a 2014 World Cup qualifying group including Serbia, Scotland, Wales and Macedonia.
