The Houston Dynamo has signed midfielder Anthony Obodai and released forward Luis Angel Landin, the club's first designated player.
The 27-year-old Obodai was playing for RKC Waalwijk in The Netherlands, and his signing with Houston is contingent on the arrival of his international transfer certificate. Obodai spent two weeks with the Dynamo in June, starting in two exhibition matches.
Landin, who turns 25 next week, joined the Dynamo in August 2009. The Mexican star was a disappointment, scoring only two goals with three assists in 20 games.
The Dynamo also announced that assistant coach John Spencer resigned for personal reasons. Spencer had been an assistant to head coach Dominic Kinnear since 2006.
