Ba has refused to return to training with Hoffenheim following West Ham United's interest in signing the striker on loan with a view to a permanent move. The Senegal international has insisted he is not a mercenary, having previously been disappointed that Hoffenheim did not sanction a move to Stuttgart. Hopp believes Ba is trying to force an exit from the Bundesliga side and is weighing up whether to enter into negotiations with interested clubs. "Definitely, it's of use to work on a transfer for the player," Hopp told kicker-Sportmagazin. "It's the second time in his Hoffenheim career that he has opted to go toe-to-toe with the club over a transfer request. "For me, it is still dubious if Demba Ba will get a new club under these circumstances. Ba is attempting to get a transfer through by force. "As far as I know there were already indications at Christmas that he would be doing this." Hoffenheim's general manager Ernst Tanner is ready to bring in Fifa on the issue and doubts Ba will ever play for the club again. Tanner told Bild: "For me, actually, I cannot believe Demba Ba will play in a Hoffenheim jersey again and I am definitely looking to contact Fifa over this affair. "If we do not want him to play elsewhere for a while, he will definitely be unable to play for the time being."
