Colorado forward Macoumba Kandji tore his left ACL on the game-winning goal that gave the Rapids their first MLS championship.

Kandji, who replaced Omar Cummings in the 98th minute of the title match against FC Dallas on Sunday, was hurt on the game-winning goal just nine minutes after entering the game.

Kandji received a long pass from Conor Casey two minutes into the second extra period and slipped the ball between the legs of Dallas defender Jair Benitez. But as he stopped to shoot, Dallas defender Ugo Ihemelu crashed into Kandji's left leg.

The ball deflected off Dallas' George John and into the net for a 2-1 Rapids win.
