The Argentine last week committed his future to the in-form St James' Park club and on Saturday he netted the second goal in a 2-1 win over Wolves at Molineux. Gutierrez can at times prove a frustration, but his effort against Wolves demonstrated his strengths, as he beat four defenders before finishing past Wayne Hennessey. The wide-man was pleased to mark his new contract in style and hopes to build on the eighth goal of his Newcastle career. "It was just a great way to celebrate my new contract," said Gutierrez in the Shields Gazette. "Hopefully, more goals like that can come in the future. "It was a nice goal and I enjoyed it, but the most important thing was to go there and take away the three points." Newcastle manager Alan Pardew, who will spend the international break planning for the visit of Tottenham to St James' Park, also hopes Gutierrez can go on a scoring spree. "Hopefully, there's many more goals to come from Jonas over the course of his new contract," Pardew told the Shields Gazette. "It was a great start for him under that new deal. It was a super goal."
