Greece's top sporting official says fans could be banned from upcoming basketball and volleyball games between rivals Olympiakos and Panathinaikos following violence at a weekend football match between the clubs.
Government general secretary for sport Panos Bitsaxis says he has asked federations to invite only school children to watch the March 6 Basketball Cup final and March 2 Volleyball Cup semifinal match between the two clubs.
Greek football league leader Olympiakos is facing likely disciplinary action after fans invaded the pitch Saturday and assaulted several Panathinaikos players. Olympiakos won the game 2-1 and extended its lead to 10 points.
