Goias reaches Copa Sudamericana final

Goias fought back to win 2-1 at fellow Brazilian club Palmeiras on Wednesday and advance to the final of the Copa Sudamericana on the away goals rule.

Palmeiras won the first-leg semifinal 1-0 at Goias a week ago, but Goias progressed by virtue of scoring twice in Sao Paulo.

Goias will face either defending champion Liga de Quito or Argentina's Independiente, who play their second leg Thursday. Liga de Quito won the first leg at home 3-2.

Ernando scored the winner for Goias in the 81st minute. Carlos Alberto eariler scored with a header in first-half stoppage time. Luan had scored in the 33rd to give Palmeiras the early lead.
