The 37-year-old has made just two cameo Premier League appearances for the Blues this season, including the last 17 minutes of Sunday's 1-0 derby reverse at Wolves. But with a relegation battle beckoning on the back of a solitary victory in eight games, Phillips reckons he is worth a gamble up front. "I'm not 100% fit but the only way I can do that is by getting out there," Phillips told the Birmingham Mail. "Of course I want to play more and I feel I can. We need to score goals, I'm a goalscorer and I want to be doing that. "It's been frustrating this first part of the season. It's like last season, when towards the second part I started coming on more and more. "With a busy schedule over Christmas I'm sure the squad will get used."
