Catania have announced that Marco Giampaolo will be their new manager next season following Sinisa Mihajlovic's departure from the club.
Mihajlovic quit the Serie A club earlier in the week amid reports he could succeed Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan.
Mihajlovic has also been linked with Fiorentina after it was confirmed on Sunday that Cesare Prandelli will take over as Italy manager after the World Cup.
Catania have not wasted any time in finding their new manager and Giampaolo will take charge for the 2010/11 campaign.
A statement on the club's official website read: "Catania announce that the role of manager has been given to Marco Giampaolo for 2010/11."
Giampaolo has not managed a team since being sacked as Siena boss in October 2009.
