Serbian footballer Almir Gegic is being interrogated by prosecutors in Cremona on Thursday for his alleged involvement in a widespread match-fixing scandal.
The midfielder's hearing is likely to run into Friday.
After more than a year on the run, Gegic turned himself in Monday.
Gegic was brought to a jail in Cremona, where prosecutor Roberto Di Martino's inquiry is based. More than 50 people have been arrested so far and over 100 are under investigation.
Gegic was allegedly a link between the fixing ring's base in Asia and Italian footballers. He was charged with criminal association and sports fraud.
The Cremona case, along with related inquiries in Bari and Naples, has resulted in many clubs being docked points during the past two seasons. Several coaches and players have been banned.
