Cahill will return to domestic duty for the FA Cup semi-finalists on Saturday against Birmingham following Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Ghana at Wembley. Gartside said: "I am absolutely delighted for Gary because I know how much it means to him to play for England and how proud he is to be selected for his country. "He has been involved in a number of squads now and come on as substitute on a couple of occasions, so this is a great step for him." Gartside added on the club's website: "Gary always gives 100% for club and country and he did that again with another accomplished performance."
