African Cup of Nations co-host Gabon opened the 20,000-seat Stade de Franceville on Monday with a 0-0 friendly draw with Sudan.

The teams played out the stalemate in front of a small crowd at the newly renovated venue, which is one of four stadiums set to host matches at the 28th Cup of Nations. It's the last of the grounds to be inaugurated.

The 16-team tournament kicks off on Saturday at Estadio de Bata in Equatorial Guinea.

Matches will be staged in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea and the Gabonese capital Libreville as well as Franceville.
