Former Spain striker Raul Tamudo has joined Real Sociedad on a one-year contract.
Tamudo is the all-time leading scorer at Espanyol, which he left at the end of last season after 13 years at the Barcelona club.
The 32-year-old Tamudo, who scored five goals in 13 appearances for Spain over a seven-year period, fell out of favor with coach Mauricio Pochettino last season.
Tamudo said Sunday that ''my time at Espanyol was wonderful, but I have to forget the past and live in the present.''
Real Sociedad is returning to topflight Spanish football for the first time in four seasons.
